First word...
Thank you to our supporters
who have made this edition
of The EVC Magazine possible:
T
his edition focuses on something
that matters to all our readers: how
educational visits can support and
strengthen the learning that happens
every day in school. In these pages you’ll
hear from EVCs, providers and advisers with practical tips
and advice on taking learning outside the classroom.
We meet the team behind North London Collegiate
School’s robotics club, where students take their STEM
learning beyond school and into competition. We also look
at the work of North London Waste Authority, exploring
how providers are thinking carefully about curriculum
links and meaningful experiences.
EVC Rosie Thomson from Eleanor Palmer Primary shares
how she ensures that every visit connects clearly with
classroom learning. Niall Abbott from Visions in Education
reflects on the value of immersive language experiences,
and young carer Freya, alongside Carers Trust, offers
important insights into making trips more accessible
for young carers.
There’s also a look at phone-free schools and what that
might mean for your visits, plus policy updates, guidance
and key dates.
As always, thank you to everyone who contributed.
If you have a story to share, I’d love to hear from you
at hello@theevcmagazine.com.
All best wishes,
Nikki
