‘MY BEST SCHOOL TRIP’ AWARD
SCHOOL TRIP CHAMPION AWARD
This accolade, part of the annual School Travel
Awards organised by School Travel Organiser
magazine, recognises standout educational visits.
It could be a day trip, UK residential or overseas
adventure – the team is looking for an experience
that has had a positive impact on staff and pupils.
This award recognises an individual who helps to
create and/or organise school trips and focuses on how
they help promote the value of learning outside the
classroom. It is for EVCs, teachers and staff who work
for a school or an academy.
Teachers, EVCs and school staff are invited to submit
an entry including comments from those involved.
The deadline is Sunday 31 May.
Entries are then reviewed by the STO team with a
shortlist created and judged by a panel of experts
in learning outside the classroom. Finalists will be
invited to the School Travel Awards ceremony, which
takes place on Friday 20 November at the Royal
Lancaster Hotel in London.
The winning school will receive £2,500 to spend on
a future educational visit.
St Woolos Primary School in Newport won the award
in 2025 for their Year 5 residential to Farms for City
Children’s Treginnis Farm.

THE EVC MAGAZINE – SPRING 2026
The deadline for nominations is Sunday 17 May. After
that, a shortlist will be revealed and then voting will
open to determine the winner, who will be announced
at the awards ceremony in November.
The winner of this award will receive £2,500 to put
towards a school trip.
Last year’s School Trip Champion Award went to
history teacher Dave Cook from Tendring Technology
College, who was praised for his passion for broadening
students’ horizons and raising aspirations among the
pupils through educational visits.
School Travel Organiser editor, Keeley Rodgers, said:
“The teachers and EVCs who go over and above to give
their students incredible experiences deserve to be
recognised and this award does just that.”
