New allergy guidance will
'transform allergy safety
in schools'
The government will update its
statutory guidance, Supporting
Pupils at School with Medical
Conditions, to include a focus on
allergy by September 2026.
The guidance will require
schools to have a dedicated
allergy policy; named individuals
responsible for allergy safety
arrangements; and whole-school
allergy training. All children
with allergies that need active
management will need to have
individual Healthcare Plans.
