elcome to the latest edition of
The EVC Magazine, where this
term we’re taking a closer look at safety
and safeguarding on educational visits.
We’ve included a bumper set of advice articles on
safeguarding, homestays, trampoline parks and first
aid to help keep your CPD up to date. We explain what
goes into the quality marks and schemes that you look
for when choosing providers, including a behind-thescenes look at an LOtC Quality Badge assessment. For a
quick guide to 50 years of health and safety in outdoor
learning, turn to page 23 and find out how the safety
culture that we have today has changed and evolved.

have really inspired us and are great examples of the
extraordinary lengths to which staff will go to create
opportunities for children and young people.
