Run a great school trip?
It could win your school £2,000
Has your school organised an educational visit
that’s really delivered? Enter it into the ‘My Best
School Trip’ Award and you could win big!
Part of the annual School Travel Awards initiative, which
is run by School Travel Organiser, the ‘My Best School
Trip’ Award recognises outstanding educational visits and
is open to Key Stages 1–4.
• Heathfield Knoll School, Worcestershire, for their Year
6/7 residential to the Boundless Outdoors Centre in
Malvern
• Salusbury Primary School, Brent, for their Year 5 trip to
Turkey
• Stoke by Nayland Primary School, Colchester, for their
KS2 trip to the Snape Maltings Concert Hall in Suffolk
Have you been on an exceptional visit recently? Or
perhaps you’ve got something coming up that could be
an amazing experience. Why not enter it and be in with a
chance of winning £2,000 towards a future school trip?
Past winners have included residentials and day trips
from all types of school that have taken learning outside
the classroom to places such as Liverpool, Cumbria and
Cornwall. The best bit? Winners can then use the prize
money to create another memorable experience.
Who won last time?
Carisbrooke College (IWEF) on the Isle of Wight took home
the 2024 title, for their Year 10/11 trip to Vietnam. It was
the first time an overseas visit had won but, as usual, the
judges had a difficult time deciding upon a winner.
Wanting to re-energise learners as soon as possible
after the lack of international trips due to the pandemic,
and with the Vietnam War playing such a large role in
the GCSE History curriculum, teacher Joe Briscoe felt
it important to offer a trip that not only embedded the
learning that had taken place in class, but also expanded
the perspectives and horizons of the group.
Day trips, residentials and overseas: last year’s ‘My Best
School Trip’ winner and finalists had it all covered. As an
idea of the different types of entry, the 2024 finalists were:
• Southill Primary School, Weymouth, for their Year 4
residential to London
